After the restoration and prior to the final photographic recording, a ‘final examination’ is conducted in our premises. The windows are assembled in our display tower and critically examined by our workshop manager, the project manager, the project acquisition team and, last but not least, by Mr Peters personally. The overall impression of the window is extremely important for this examination, as during the individual stages of the restoration one only ever sees one specific part of the complete window.

Assembly of the restored window for the final examination
Once the final internal examination has been completed, a proposal will be made to the client and the respective authority for the preservation of historic buildings and monuments to conduct their own intermediate examination. This proposal is normally well received, as for a long time this will be the last chance to view the window as closely as this and it is only at such occasions that one becomes aware of the varied detail entailed within it.
